Five remote entry-level positions with lucrative salaries in 2024

by | Apr 4, 2024 | Freelancing

According to a study by Credit Karma, over 30% of individuals belonging to Generation Zen are facing challenges in moving out independently. Instead, they are choosing to reside with their parents to reduce expenses and share costs, amidst the ongoing cost of living crisis.

The study also unveiled that around 25% of Gen Z and Millennial renters find themselves compelled to seek shelter with family or friends due to their inability to afford rent. Additionally, 41% are resorting to sacrificing essential needs in order to meet rental payments. Among those who continue to reside in their rented homes, 25% and 31% respectively are relying on assistance from family members to cover housing expenses.

Inflation is eroding the purchasing power of Gen Z and Millennials, resulting in a significant gap between their entry-level salaries and ongoing expenses such as student loan repayment, rent, utilities, technology, entertainment, and larger investments like purchasing a home or vehicle.

Given the current financial pressures, which have escalated notably since the onset of the pandemic, securing a well-paying job is no longer seen as a luxury but rather a necessity for maintaining a sustainable and comfortable lifestyle independently.

As a result, many recent graduates embarking on their careers are actively seeking entry-level roles that offer remote work opportunities and competitive salaries.

While the terms “entry-level” and “high-paying” may initially appear contradictory, they can indeed coexist due to increasing demand and expansion, particularly within the technology sector. This industry is projected to grow at a significantly faster rate than others and boasts a median salary of $100,000.

Here are five remote positions that offer attractive salaries and are open to applicants with limited or no experience. The salary figures provided are sourced from Salary.com and Talent.com.

(It’s worth noting: To effectively position yourself in a competitive job market, it’s often necessary to secure these roles through appropriate certification pathways, or in some cases, a degree, along with a demonstrable portfolio of real-world projects. You can overcome this hurdle by carefully assessing your experience, including any relevant self-employment ventures that align with the job description, as well as highlighting internships and volunteer work from your university years. This holds true even for entry-level positions that may be advertised as requiring two or three years of experience. Additionally, ensure the employer offers clear avenues for career progression and development before accepting an offer for a junior or entry-level role.)
