Intel Unveils the ‘World’s Fastest’ CPU Priced at Nearly Rs. 2 Lakhs

Intel has launched its latest and most advanced CPU, the Intel Core i9-14900KS. Positioned as the superior counterpart to the gradually phased-out Core i9-14900K processor, this innovative CPU boasts an impressive out-of-the-box frequency of 6.2GHz, making it the fastest chip available on the market. Speed is the defining feature here, with Intel claiming significant performance improvements over its predecessor.

The Core i9-14900KS is a powerhouse, equipped with 24 cores — comprising 8 P-cores and 16 E-cores — along with 32 threads. With a thermal power of 150 watts (TDP) and a substantial 36MB of Intel Smart Cache, it excels at multitasking without encountering any performance bottlenecks.

Similar to other computer chips, this CPU supports both DDR4 and DDR5 memory configurations. It can be configured with up to 192GB of DDR4-3200 MT/s or DDR5-5600 memory. Additionally, it features 20 PCIe lanes and is compatible with Z690 or Z790-compliant motherboards. Out of these lanes, sixteen operate at the lightning-fast PCIe 5.0 speed, while the remaining sixteen operate at PCIe 4.0 speed.

Speed remains the focal point, despite the numerous similarities between this new model and the 14900K. While the 14900K maintains its prowess, the 14900KS surpasses it with its remarkable 6.2GHz clock speed.
